He would have engaged in action in the Battle of the Falklands, which resulted in the sinking of SMS Scharnhorst and SMS Gneisenau. In 1915 the Inflexible bombarded Turkish forts in the Dardenelles during which she struck a mine. She was repaired and went on to see action in the Battle of Jutland.
