• Marriage Licence, 1874, Swaffham, Norfolk. Robert and Matilda married in the Register Office in Swaffham by certificate. Robert was of "full age" and a batchelor, his occupation was labourer, residence Swaffham, his father was named as George Burton, labourer. Matilda was 19 years old, a spinster and no occupation was given, resident in Swaffham, her father was Robert Petch (deceased) whose occupation had been a tailor. Witnesses were Arthur Petch (probably Matilda's brother) and Ann Maria Burton (probably Robert's sister)
