Jane BRADLEY was born about 1800 in Cornwall. She married James PRICE on the 24th July 1820 in Stoke Damerell, Devon.  She and James had nine children.

Elizabeth was born in Devonport in 1821, Mary 1824, James 1828, Susannah Selena 1829, Thomas 1831, Charles 1836, Jane 1837, Catharine 1839 and Robert 1841 were all baptised at Upnor, Kent. James was serving in the Royal Corps of Sappers and Miners since 1813 had been posted to Chatham. The family lived there from sometime after Elizabeth's birth in 1821 until James' discharge at Woolwich in 1842.

The 1841 census states Jane's age as 40 suggesting a birth date of 1800/1801.

In 1851 Jane and James were living at 33 Wharton Street, Cardiff. James is working as a gardener and Charles, Jane, Catharine and Robert are living there with them. Charles is working as a sailmaker apprentice the other children are scholars.  The census states Jane's birthplace as Cornwall but the district/village is difficult to transcribe - it looks like "Tula", Jane's age is given as 52 (born 1799/1800).

James died in Cardiff in 1858. The 1861 census records Jane as a widow, working as a "mangler".  She is living at 3 Golden Lion Court with her daughter Caroline who is working as a dressmaker.  This census shows Jane's birthplace as Dullow (Dulloe) Cornwall but states her age as 67 (born 1794/5).

I am unsure when Jane died, I can't find her on the 1871 census and a Jane Price did die in Cardiff in 1869 aged 74 (born 1795). There is a birth recorded in Duloe Cornwall for a Janefra BRADDLICK in 1800, daughter of Nicholas and Susannah - this could possible be Jane.
