• Military Service, 1905, Doncaster, Yorkshire. Attested for York and Lancaster Regiment 26.10.1905 age 18 years and 10 months. Triangular scar on left eyelid Right testicle smaller than left. Service no. 9003 & years civil life as a tailor 2 years army tailor last working for T J Petch & Sons Doncaster. Living at 21 Burton Terrace, Balby, Doncaster On 3 April 1918 Connaught Hospital Aldershot attending for continuous treatment of syphilus weekly. On 5th June 1919, living at 58 Victoria Road Dewsbury acknowledged receipt of 1914 Star and on 19 June 1921 the Victory Medal

Served at Home from attestation to 13 November 1913 then in the Reserves until 5 August 1914. Despatched to France 8 September 1914 with British Expeditionary Force and remained in France until 9 July 1916.
In1909 passed class of instruction in stretcher bearing - proficient.
Transferred to Royal engineers in 1917
Absent for 17 days in 1906 and rejoined 15 October awarded 14 days detention by C.O.
Appointed Lance corporal By CO in 1909 but later deprived of stripe for misconduct (probably the 17 days abscence.)

• Marriage Banns, 1918, Dewsbury, Yorkshire. 30 year old batchelor, tailor living at 100 Huddersfield Road his bride was 20 years old, spinster living at 44 Woodbine Street

• Burial, 1937, Wakefield, Yorks. Was living at 7 High Street, Crofton All saints

Percival married Catherine RUSSELL, daughter of Fred Lawson RUSSELL and Unknown, on 14 Dec 1918 in Dewsbury, Yorkshire.

Percival had a relationship with Jessie MELLOR. (Jessie MELLOR was born on 28 Jun 1903 and died in 1979 in Wakefield, Yorks..)
